1. What are the requirements to become an Au Pair with Global Pathfinder?
• You must be between 18 and 30 years old, have completed secondary education, have a clean criminal record and be in good health. Proficiency in English is required, and knowledge of Mandarin is advantageous but not mandatory. A genuine interest in cultural exchange and childcare is essential.
2. How long does the Au Pair program last?
• We offer programs ranging from 6 months to one year with the possibility of extending it to two years. The duration can be selected based on your personal and professional goals.
3. What kind of visa do I need, and how do I apply for it?
• Most Au Pairs need an X Visa (Student Visa) depending on the length of their stay and involvement in educational programs. We assist with the visa application process, including documentation and guidelines for embassy interviews.
4. What are my responsibilities as an Au Pair?
• Au Pairs are expected to engage in childcare and English tutoring for about 30 hours per week. You will also participate in cultural exchange activities, which include language lessons and other cultural experiences.
5. What support does Global Pathfinder provide to Au Pairs during their stay?
• We provide comprehensive support including pre-departure orientation, accommodation arrangements, visa assistance, 24/7 emergency contact, and regular check-ins to ensure your experience is positive and enriching.
For Host Families
6. How do we select an Au Pair?
• We carefully match Au Pairs with host families based on shared interests, lifestyle preferences, and mutual expectations. Families can interview potential Au Pairs before making a decision.
7. Are there specific legal obligations that host families need to fulfill?
• Host families must comply with local employment laws, provide a safe and welcoming home environment, and respect the contractual terms agreed upon with the Au Pair and Global Pathfinder.
8. Can we choose the duration of the Au Pair’s stay?
• Yes, families can specify their preferred duration, typically between 6 months and one year, depending on their needs and the Au Pair’s availability.
9. What happens if there are issues with our Au Pair?
• We encourage open communication and provide mediation services if needed. If issues cannot be resolved, we offer assistance in finding a suitable replacement.

• Au Pairs are encouraged to explore and experience the culture during their free time. Travel is permissible, provided it does not interfere with their Au Pair responsibilities.
